Earlier this month, we ended our use of Google Analytics, moving over to Plausible, a privacy-friendly service compliant with policies such as the GDPR, and one that doesn’t use cookies (the digital equivalent of biscuits, if you’re from that side of the pond).
Now, when you visit our website or read our podcast industry reports, no Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is collected from your device, and no cookies are installed or needed for our web analytics. And yes, that does mean we won’t be interrupting your visit with a large disclaimer to accept cookies or leave :)
If you’d like to read a bit more about this change, or want to dig into some of the technical considerations, you’ll find them here. We hope to continue streamlining how we go about our work, and our relationship with you.

‘Preserving our heritage is to preserve ourselves.’
THE LIGHTHOUSE CONVERSATIONS
Star designer Nada Debs visited Dubai recently, and Hashem Montasser caught up with her on the latest episode of The Lighthouse Conversations. Nada’s journey from 1980s Japan to Civil War in Lebanon to Rhode Island School of Design, and its subsequent hybridity continues to influences her designs. In fact, one of the designs she’s proudest of showcases—among her many obsessions—anime.
